jipiie! the tenth mumpelmonster booklett is going to the printer today! its been two years now. great great fun. i truly giggle all the time while drawing them...

the new 100000 copies of blattrot are in schools now. here is my illustrations. the cover is an interpretation of the laokoon-group, then there is a gigantic university-transformer that strikes back and a living community where peace is at home and mrs nales how she is trying to make everyone happier; industry, families and banks.

what what what!? lindas-ex is riding a WHAT!?!
this is a poster for an exhibition in zurich, switzerland. its about propaganda and i contribute this poster because noone could walk past it without having at least a look at it. plus its really good anti-lindas-ex-propaganda. everyone hates him anyways!

i postet some new recordsheet-cards on the other blog. some are funny, some are sad and some are so funny, that they are sad again.

we made a poster and a postcard for some incredible friendly french people. they save the environment and old buildings. i like that!

the illustration on top is the new ci-illustration-style for the JUSOS-HOCHSCHULGRUPPEN in germany.
the other illustration almost was the new ci-illustration-style for them. i was in favor for the look above... it has that old-fashion-workers window-style to it, plus it perfectly fits their logo.

jippie! the fist issue of BLATTROT arrived today. blattrot is a give-away-newspaper (100.000 copies) for german universities. its published by the JUSO HOCHSCHULGRUPPEN.
BASICS09 was happy to do the layout and illustrations and... everything but the text.

a big thank you to the bundesvorstand for their trust in our work and a massiv big thanks to martin, we are looking forward to the next issues.

i worked pretty much the whole december on the so called "book of new" for the new bmw-mini cabrio.
PLANTAGE did this book with one hundred illustrations on everything that is new with the new mini. i was lucky and got the job to do those one hundret illustrations in in twenty workdays. sometimes i did 6 of them per day.
above i posted screenshots of all the drawings as screenshots and a few in higher res.
the one with the motor gave my wrist a really hard time. i also worked a lot of the time with a wärmepflaster on my shoulder.

but it was great fun and the guys at plantage did a great job. thank you jason, johannes and sarah!

yesterday, i sent out some new recordsheets. the idea is, to say "thanks for the link!" to people by sending them handdrawn postcards like the ones above.

me and luis, just spent four days in lille, france. there we worked for a fashion-festival called lille3000.
our friends from redspective sent us there to paint in a temporary fashion store and at another place. Luis also did a lot of costumized-live-painting-shirts.
thank you to everyone in lille, we had a great time (and ate snails!!) and of course to cynthia.

in case you didnt know: foamhead is a stoppelkopp with a 9mm and zoll is toll.

the newes issue of SCHLOSSPLATZ (to the power of) 3 is finished. its about citicenship, so we (basics09) did the illustration-pages with a passport-pattern in the background and had a stamp done for the cover. also all portraits of the authors were done like passport-fotos with stamps. thank you, dear sp3-redaktion! always a pleasure!

basics09 is currently working on the launch of a newspaper. this is a dummy-illustration. its a lot of fun and we have the possibility to really work freely. thanks to martin.

above are some early scetches for an MTV job i did last year. they wanted to have avatares for an online-game plattform. two kinds of characters were planned, real-life-like ones and totally crazy ones that had bodyparts and -colors replaced by stuff...

today, i got the print of the "utopia" illustration from EIGENART. i like it. and i like the gill sans poster in the background. no idea, why the boys have to decorate the walls in our office. since its in my back, i dont see it. i dont like posters. only on the street and dirty.

i spent the last week teaching at the fh-salzburg with thomas sabel. it was a course about animation. great fun. thank you everyone, especially thomas.

for a story about a man who is living inside a man who lives inside another man. the "mannimann". after the man in the middle dies, there is a problem in communication.

between the years was great. my family and i had 20 days of holidays with no work at all! incredible!

here is an illustration for the EIGEN UND ART, the student-magazine of the university of arts berlin. they do an issue on utopia. so i did a drawing of an utopia, the bremer stadtmusikanten, and the anti-thesis to it. but when i finished, luis said its not understandable and i had to do something about it. so i drew the explenation to it right in the image.
you see: i do not believe in any form of betterness. not because i am pessimistic, but because i know about the white beast with many eyes...

owlright! whenever i dont post stuff on my blog, its not because i dont work but because i work too much.
i almost finished 100 illustrations for a german car-manufacturer. i can only post them in spring. but it was a lot of fun and hell of a work. my wrist is making noises now.

for zitty, the berlin city-magazine, i did this illustration about an afterhour (i posted the first try, that looked like an orgy before...).

other than that, i worked on two pitches and am still doing a huge job for a car manufacturer. 100 (one hundred? yes!) illustrations. crazy but me-like-it. i can show it next spring.

for a party-illustration. but the AD said it looks too much like an orgy. do i go to the wrong parties?

on the recordsheet-blog, i posted some new postcards. the good old deal is that everyone who linkes me somewhere (internet, television, grandmas old red cars backwindow...) gets a postcard with an original drawing.

for musikexpress i was lucky to do an illustration on ac/dc (or acca/dacca). the top one is what they printed. then i thought it would be a little interessting to see a sketch. and the third illustration was not used.
i love the cables. but i dont like them in real life.
a huge "thank you" to arndt, for letting me do this!

thanks to inga at DAS MAGAZIN, i could do an illustration on a topic that i can identify with. the hyper-modern-frühförderung-buggy opens an article about parentship. yee-ha! thank you.

linus and me just sent the new mumpelmonster-booklet to the printer.
this time, the story is the good old "what-if-the-world-was-under-water-and-a-huge-monster-had-an-infected-nosehorn..."-scenario.
it will be in stores and up on the website in about 12 days.

over at basics09, we just finished the fith issue of schlossplatz (to the power of) 3 (speak "hogh dry" in german). the topic is water.
i did very many portraits. to show you how many, i multipied only half of them on top of each other. and i fotoboothed the cover and two pages on statistics about the water-footprint of products. very interessting!

because the topic was water, we could not deside for a main color like in the other issues. so we desided to let the illustrations and the cover look like they got wet. there you go: water!

at basics09, we just finished a huge job. for innotrans, one of the worlds biggest train-trade-fairs, we did an interactive dont-have-a-word-for-it-(we called it booth module...)-thing for bombardier. it shows theire eco-friendly new train-techniques.
rasso did a lot of great flashing and i tried to help as much as i could. mainly contacting and some illustration-work. it took us about two month to finish and now its not even in the internet. but we learned a lot and had a great time.
ps. bombardier does not make weapons.
